LEAD is SkillSphere Education’s flagship public speaking, personality development and skill set development programme for junior school students across India.
An acronym for leadership, entrepreneurship, awareness and diplomacy (LEAD), the programme trains students in the basic facets of these 4 major focus areas which are key to success. Apart from developing public speaking skills and enhancing general knowledge, LEAD also focuses on essential skill sets such as analytical thinking, creative writing, problem solving, team work, opinion development, negotiation skills, money management among several others.
Following the universally acclaimed 3D teaching model (disseminate, develop, display), LEAD includes several exercises and activities in each module through which students develop these skills. It is conducted as a short term or long term programme of 24-30 hours total duration in different private centres and schools across India.
The LEAD Programme – An Overview
Many teenagers and adults find it difficult to speak in public, express opinions, and exhibit their talents. A lack of conviction in critical skill sets such as public speaking, general awareness, analytical thinking among several others, is the primary cause for this.
Once a person moves into his/her teenage years, addressing these shortcomings becomes more challenging. Helping students overcome the fear of public speaking, enhancing their general awareness, and developing these important skill sets at a young age itself is much easier and better. In fact, most noted educationists suggest that the primary years of learning are the phase in which skill set orientation must be appreciably addressed.
The LEAD programme does exactly this! Developed after years of research and successful piloting by some of India’s most renowned educationists, it follows a systematic approach to develop public speaking skills, general awareness, lateral thinking, and other skill sets among young students.
LEAD has been conducted for over 30000 students in over 20 different cities across India helping many students become great public speakers, communicators, and globally aware individuals at a young age itself.
Download the LEAD programme prospectus to go through comprehensive details related to the programme including the programme details, course structure, curriculum and its benefits.
The LEAD programme has 3 different phases or levels which focus on the development of specific skills under these 4 major focus areas. Each phase is conducted for a duration of 24-30 hours as a short-term or long-term programme in various schools across India.
To enrol your school/institute for the LEAD programme, click on the ‘Make an Enquiry’ tab and fill in your institution details. The SkillSphere team will revert with relevant information.
In most private centres across India, the LEAD programme is conducted as a long-term programme with sessions taking place on a weekly basis for 1-2 hours and going on for a total of 24 to 30 hours per phase. The programme is also conducted on a short-term basis in some cases. The phase wise structure of the LEAD programme remains the same with 3 different phases or levels.
To enrol your child for the LEAD programme in one of SkillSphere Education’s private centres across India, click on the ‘Make an Enquiry’ tab and fill your details. The SkillSphere team will revert with necessary information about centre locations and start dates of sessions.
While public speaking workshops and personality development programmes focus on the development of only a specific skill or provide a general overview of all of them, the methodically designed LEAD programme pays special attention towards ensuring holistic skill set development through well designed modules dedicated to different skills.
As mentioned earlier, LEAD is an acronym for leadership, entrepreneurship, awareness, and diplomacy. The different modules in the programme focus on specific skill sets that fall under these focus areas. Some of these include:
Ø Leadership Skills: Public Speaking, Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Decision Making etc.
Ø Entrepreneurial Skills: Analytical Thinking, Lateral Thinking, Team Work, Man Management etc.
Ø General Awareness: Interactive methods including debates, group discussions, paper among others to enhance local, national and global awareness
Ø Diplomacy: The Art of Polite Disagreement, Negotiation Skills, Collaboration, Debating etc.
Each module of the programme follows the 3D model (Disseminate, Develop, Display) and hence involves a perfect mix of theoretical, practical and experiential learning. Students learn through participation in activities, games, and exercises while receiving ample guidance and encouragement from experienced and accomplished trainers. Knowledge related to each skill is imparted based on the maturity level of the age group and by citing real life scenarios relevant to them. For example, in the modules related to diplomacy, the focus is on teaching students how to solve minor conflicts they might have in their daily lives in an amicable manner.
Divided into 3 phases of 24 to 30 hours each, different skill sets are focused upon in each phase making them mutually exclusive. Hence, a student is not required to participate in the programme in a phase-wise process, though it is highly recommended.
The LEAD programme is a one of its kind programme in India which provides overall skill set development taught through fun and interactive methods. It pays major emphasis on proactive participation and progressive development of students. LEAD is fully certified with personalized student feedback reports for parent and teacher reference. The programme is always conducted for small student batches to ensure maximum personalization and student attention.
